4. Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a sci-fi action video game that stands out as one of the top games of 2011 and my top first person shooter. It does an excellent job of blending role playing and stealth elements into the FPS game play. Deus Ex: Human Revolution takes place 25 years prior to the events of the first Deus Ex title in the year 2027 a time when corporations have become more powerful than governments. Players take on the role of Adam Jensen, head of security for one of these corporations, who is gravely injured in a brutal attack. The open ended storyline has players searching for those responsible for the attack.
9. Homefront
Homefront rounds out my top shooters. Set ten years after the financial collapse of the United States, North Korea has invaded and become an occupying force. Players will take up arms against them as part of the resistance force hoping to drive them from the continent. Homefront contains a single player campaign as well as a multiplayer modes.
10. Red Orchestra 2
Red Orchestra 2 Heroes of Stalingrad is the only PC exclusive title on my list of top first person shooters. Set during the bloody Battle of Stalingrad players can play through two separate single player campaigns one from the German perspective and one from the Russian perspective. It includes real world ballistics, bullet penetration, breathing and more as well as a covering system and squad commands. In addition to the two single player campaigns, Red Orchestra also includes multiplayer game modes.

The survivors of Banoi thought they had escaped the terrors of the tropical island and survived the apocalypse on a corrupted paradise. Then their fate took a turn for the worse. Shortly after the battle-hardened team had landed their helicopter on a military ship, a furious storm hits and havoc quickly spreads on board. Suddenly they find themselves struggling for their lives again with all hope drowning in the rising waves. With invigorating new elements infused into a proven mix, Dead Island Riptide reanimates the zombie terror for a second battle for life against the dead. A monsoon has hit the once beautiful archipelago and heavy rainstorms have laid waste to large areas of the islands.
6. Bulletstorm
Bulletstorm takes place in teh 26th century in which players take on the role of a former mercenary who has been double crossed by his commander. Stuck on an planet far away them must battle their way back in order to defeat his former commander. Bulletstorm introduces a feature called Skillshots, which is encourages players to go over board when killing an enemy. The each over the top each kill earns you e points and in game cash that can be used to upgrade weapons and abilities.
7. RAGE
In RAGE players will step into a future in which humans struggle for survival after an asteroid collides with Earth. Emerging as the lone survivor underground "Ark" used as a final refuge before the impact, players will fight against hostile mutants in a vast open world. The game features some great visuals and fantastic firefights and gun battles.
8. F.E.A.R. 3
F.E.A.R. 3 is set nine months after the events of F.E.A.R. and F.E.A.R. 2. Players will take on the role of the Point Man but will also play as Paxton Fettel the main enemy from the first F.E.A.R. game who helps free the Point Man and together try to escape the Asylum. F.E.A.R. 3 contains a single player campaign and multiplayer modes as well as a split screen co-op mode.
